Australian Red Cross Society has a long standing relationship with Philippine Red Cross and has maintained an in-country presence since 2011. Previous activities undertaken in partnership with Philippines Red Cross include initiatives in humanitarian assistance, community health, disaster risk reduction and water and sanitation. Australian Red Cross also supports Philippines Red Cross with Chapter Development initiatives, thematic programming support and communications and quality initiatives.
Australian Red Cross and its Red Cross Red Crescent Movement Partners have recently completed an extensive Typhoon Haiyan recovery assistance program in the affected areas of the Visayas region incorporating shelter, livelihoods, health, water & sanitation, education, and disaster risk reduction.
Future cooperation initiatives between Australian Red Cross and Philippines Red Cross will focus on longer term resilience initiatives in health, water and sanitation and disaster risk reduction. The joint program also includes a strong focus on National Society development in the area of protection, gender and inclusion (PGI).
The Australian Red Cross in-country presence incorporates a small national team and an international Program Development Adviser. The Country Manager will lead cooperative engagement between Australian Red Cross (ARC) and Philippines Red Cross (PRC) and maintain movement partnerships partner national societies and multilateral partners as well as external stakeholders including the Australian Government.

Selection criteria:
- Experience of complex relationship development and management including external partners and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing people including proactive management of complex and difficult issues in an international setting.
- Proven experience in finance and budget management.
- Experience working within and contributing to an M&E framework and the identification of innovation and opportunities.
- Ability to network and work collaboratively with a variety stakeholders.
- High level budgeting and financial management, and capacity to work well with others to develop and manage budgets.
- Proven achievement in program development, monitoring and evaluation.
- Community development in an international environment.
- High level research and analysis skills.
Experience dealing with local and international media and developing communication materials
